There is definitely a lot to like regarding the Canidae Dog Food brand. Growing in popularity, the recipes appear to be made of high quality with nutritious and wholesome ingredients.

The grain-free recipes (Pure) are ideal for dogs with food sensitivities as thumbs upthey are made with minimum ingredients which makes digestion a much easier process. In addition, the main source of protein (meat & fish) provides your pet with a quality ingredient.

In addition, here are a number of items that I believe are significant with the Canidae Brand.

  1. Family-owned business that are pet people as well (Established in 1996)
  2. Quality, wholesome ingredients
  3. Testing of ingredients to ensure a quality, healthy recipe
  4. Availability in both the dry and canned formulas
  5. USA based
  6. Overall, positive reviews from dog owners worldwide
  7. Emphasis on providing diets with dogs who may have sensitivities
  8. Appropriate for multi-dog homes

Canidae Dog Food … Cons

If you are still here with me, you can obviously conclude that I seem to have thumbs downa positive ‘vibe’ with my research of this company and its formulas. With that said, there are a few items that may cause some concern regarding the Canidae brand.

To be fair, the majority of the reviews for Canidae dog food I have come across have been very favorable. Here are my thoughts on some negatives that may cause some dog owners to hesitate:

  1. Cost ( Can be a bit pricey for those on a limited budget )
  2. One voluntary recall in 2012 ( Salmonella ) 

Canidae Dog Food … Final Thoughts

As I research various dog food products on the market, there are usually a number of items that causes me to pause a bit before recommending a product to you the reader. As you can tell throughout this article, there is very little not to like about the Canidae brand.

Simply put, I believe this is one of the better brands of dog food on the checklistmarket. It checks all the boxes. A premium, wholesome source of recipes, this company offers a wide selection to meet the needs of any dog or dog owner.

Family-owned, stringent measures to ensure healthy ingredients in each and every bag or can of dog food, makes it a very popular choice. I have no hesitation in recommending these recipes and formulas to dog owners.

Cost is a downfall, but nothing can stop me from giving my pup the best. Knowing that all the benefits makes canidae a great choice for my pup.
