  2. Hi Luke.
I had never thought about smaller dogs needing different nutrients than a larger dogs. But as you have very nicely pointed out small dogs are a ball full of energy and I could see how this really changes their nutrient needs. I see where you mentioned there was both good and bad things to each a dry food vs a wet food. I was curious about something, I read a post a little bit ago about cats. Now this post went on to say feeding your cat wet food was better for them because of the extra water in it. And that cats simply do not stay hydrated enough with dry food causing other issues. Would this also be a problem with dogs? Could the wet food benefit them more this way as well?
    Thank you so much.

    • Hello Melissa. Great question! Like cats, dogs are also prone to hydration as their water intake can be minimal throughout the course of a day. In these cases, serving your dog with a ‘wet’ recipe will certainly be beneficial to the needed amount of water intake.

Dogs have a difficult time resisting the smell of canned food recipes and most will devour it in record time! Thus, they are receiving an additional source of water. Many pet owners with dogs and cats are using the canned version of food to help keep their furry friends hydrated and more healthy.

Thanks again Melissa for stopping by!
